Acceptable Donation Items |
A popular library initiative on Long
Island at this time of year is a food drive to stock local pantries.
Sayville Library is partnering with the Greater Sayville Food Pantry
to fill their shelves for the busy Thanksgiving season. To obtain
food for this cause, a donation of an unexpired non-perishable food
will “pay” your library late fees.
The benefits of this program are
three-fold: food for the food pantry; outstanding library items
returned; patrons who may have stopped visiting the library due to
overextended library cards may clear their record.
Bring in:
-
One (1)
unexpired nonperishable food to the library for each print item
returned.
-
Two (2) foods for each media item returned.
-
Five (5) foods
for every $15.00 owed in late fees. The remaining fees will be
cleared.
-
The item must have been borrowed in
the last three years. -
Damaged items are not eligible.
-
No limit on the number of items returned.
-
Offer does not apply to lost books or another library’s materials.
-
Returned items must be brought to
the Circulation Desk for fees to be forgiven.
