The Elmore

Built in 1885 by Thomas Overington who named it for his wife, Ella, the Elmore Hotel was located on the west side of Handsome Avenue. The Elmore could accommodate 125 guests and featured such amenities as a tennis court, bowling alley, musical entertainments and excellent cuisine. The Elmore closed and was demolished in 1935.
