
Joseph A. Hruby. This picture was taken in 1942. Wor. Joseph A. Hruby,
superintendent of the South Side Sportsmen's Club, was drafted to serve his
country in the United States Army, On April 13th he returned in uniform to
officiate at the First Degree of Bro. Jesse Vanderborgh. Then, in a very
solemn moment he turned the gavel over to Sr. Warden Charles B. Ehrenberg who
carried on for the balance of the year. Acting Master Charles B. Ehrenberg
instituted the "Hruby Hour." At 9pm each meeting night, all business was
suspended. The Lodge was called to attention, and a prayer was given by the
Chaplain Wor. Edmund C. Munkelwitz, for the safe return of all the
brothers.
