Meadow Croft, the summer residence of John Ellis Roosevelt (cousin of Theodore Roosevelt) and his family.  It comprises 75 acres on the west side of Brown's River, north of Middle Road and east of St. Ann's.  The Dutch Colonial Revival style house was created in 1891by architect Isaac H. Green, Jr. by connecting two existing farmhouses on the property with a new central section.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Meadow Croft is now owned by the Suffolk County Parks Department, Division of Cultural and Historic Services.
