It is not known whether or not this path throught the woods is an actual place in Sayville or a generic picture.  It does serve to remind us that the Sayville area was once heavy wooded and sparsely dotted with homes and businesses.  Early in Sayville's history, wood/lumber--especially pine--was an important industry.
