Come have some fun while learning about the important roles that play bees in our everyday lives. Gerald Raffa, official beekeeper of the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium in Centerport, will show some of the tools of his trade including a beekeeper’s suit, a small hive (without the bees) and plenty of photos. Learn the Wiggle Waggle, a real dance that the bees do to communicate with other bees what they have found, such as water, nectar, pollen, or new places to live, and how the other bees can locate these resources. Finally, Mr. Raffa will answer any questions you might have, so please “bee” curious.
